The amazing transformation story of the former mountain of slag that resided here at Lost Marsh Golf Course--the taut, porous byproduct of steel mills--into a 9- and 18-hole golf course, youth golf academy and marsh sanctuary.

The Lost Marsh Environmental/Recreation Area, hailed by Environmental Protection Agency officials as the largest and most successful brownfield reclamation project in the Midwest, is the culmination of a four-year effort by Hammond officials.
