Klein Creek Golf Club Overview
This Dick Nugent design forms an outer ring around a large community of homes in the center of the property. At around 6,700 yards, Klein Creek is not exceptionally long by modern standards. But this place tests you in a number of ways and will give you fits unless you strike the ball accurately.
Klein Creek poses golfers a number of questions, the first being “can you hit the fairway?” There's so much water here that errant shots are penalized heavily. Holes are designed to make you consider your options, which I appreciate. There are a number of massive fairway and greenside bunkers here too, though the course claims that 35% of bunkers have been removed since 2019 to make it more playable. From a maintenance standpoint, the course is well groomed.
As for practice facilities, unfortunately there's no driving range here and there's only one practice green, but it is quite large. There is a restaurant here called Pier 19 that has two separate outdoor patio areas. They host weddings and events here in separate banquet hall. The pro shop is large and well stocked.
