Buffalo Grove Golf Course Overview
Buffalo Grove checks all the boxes for a solid muni: a fun and interesting course, good practice area, solid pro shop, and a good restaurant. The course itself is a good test, with lots of shot shaping opportunities and plenty of hazards. In particular, there's 4 ponds on the property you'll want to avoid, but also Buffalo Creek. The creek meanders through the heart of the course and affects a number of holes. You may want to bring a few extra balls just in case.
The practice area has two greens. A large central green is for putting only, and a smaller green off to the side is for short game practice. Unfortunately it doesn't have a practice bunker. The driving range has plenty of targets and features grass tees.
The restaurant here is Sal & Tony's, serving all your usual favorite Italian dishes, plus standard bar & grill fare. The food here is good overall, except they need to pay more attention to the hot dogs. Mine was basically disintegrated, which you can see in the photos. Golf courses need to take their hot dogs seriously.
Finally, the pro shop here is on par with most of the suburban munis and is relatively well stocked.
