Village Greens of Woodridge Overview
Owned by the Woodridge Park District since 1972, this 18-hole muni measures 6,638 yards from the back tees and has a course rating of 71.6. Don’t confuse this course for Village Green in Mundelein, which is about an hour north of here.
Village Greens of Woodridge has lots of dogleg holes amidst the parallel fairways. I counted 9 ponds on the property, making water a relatively constant presence during a round. Fairways on the course are consistently around 25-30 yards wide, making accuracy a must to score well. Mature trees line most of the holes, and while my friends keep saying they’re 90% air, they behave like 90% tree to me. The 18th hole is a great finisher, the longest par-5 on the track at 536 yards, with a tee shot over water. It’s the second toughest hole on the scorecard.
The driving range is perfect to warm up for your round. It’s about 230 yards long, so please don’t bomb your 325 drives over the fence, the big hitter that you are. There’s also a practice green and bunker. The pro shop is loaded with gear, a lot of it on sale when I was there. They were also super friendly. Village Greens is also happy to host your events and banquets.
