Green Meadows Golf Course Overview
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County owns three golf courses, and Green Meadows occupies the entry-level slot in the trio. This is a great course for beginners and folks who just want to play a laid-back round of golf. The 9-hole layout clocks in at 1,888 yards, which encompasses three par-4’s and six par-3’s.
The first three holes at Green Meadows are all par-4’s, the longest topping out at 383 yards. While there are some trees lining these fairways, there’s a healthy amount of breathing room too. It's a far cry from the claustrophobic feel you get at some of the tougher tracks, with mature trees encroaching everywhere. After those par-4’s, the rest of the round consists of par-3’s. Two ponds on the property aim to bathe your golf balls, but aren’t a lingering menace throughout the round. The greens are relatively large and flat. The course is set up for maximizing playability, not frustration.
As you might expect, there’s no driving range here. But there are two large practice greens. The pro shop is on the smaller side, offering golf essentials and snacks. And you can rent a golf cart here, but this place is highly walkable.
