Alex Collins has spent the better part of three decades playing public golf across Chicagoland, and the last several years documenting every inch of it.
He's the founder and creator of GolfScout.net, a comprehensive directory of 200+ Chicago-area public golf courses built from the ground up since 2022. What started as a personal curiosity (finding a single source that actually showed you what a course looked like before you played it) became one of the most detailed local golf resources in the United States.
Alex has personally visited and photographed every course on the site, capturing hole-by-hole galleries, pro shops, practice areas, scorecards, and other details that matter to golfers. He's also deeply interested in the history baked into these courses (many of them over a century old) and believes that documenting them today is as much about preserving the past as helping today's golfer understand the local golf landscape.
