Glendale Lakes Golf Club Overview
I wonder if this course has more water acreage than land. There's water throughout the footprint of Glendale Lakes, as implied by the name. It makes this course much tougher than its 6,186 yards of length would typically suggest. I recommend bringing a few more golf balls than you normally would.
Glendale Lakes is owned by the village of Glendale Heights and was designed by Dick Nugent, opened in 1986. The course surrounds a large cluster of homes in the center of the property that must be absolutely inundated by stray golf ball ordnance on a daily basis during golf season. Hopefully these folks have good car & home insurance. On the upside, they have easy access to a really fun and challenging golf course.
There is one practice green to calibrate your short game at Glendale Lakes. Unfortunately there’s no driving range, which would be really helpful to tune up before taking on the watery monster. Interestingly, there are several cricket fields across the street, which you don’t see very often.
