Old Orchard Country Club Overview
One of the first things you see when pulling up at Old Orchard Country Club is the giant clubhouse building. They host weddings and events here in addition to letting you crush golf balls. From the outside, the structure looks a little dated, but the inside is quite nice. The property has colorful flowers and plants practically everywhere, which look great and must be a lot of work to maintain.

Clocking in at under 6,200 yards, the golf course here is not particularly long. But don’t confuse that for it being easy. Old Orchard is over 90 years old and has large, mature trees that crowd its narrow fairways. There’s not a lot of room for error on tee shots. Furthermore, there’s water to contend with on over half the holes. But the course is well groomed and there’s not much in terms of elevation changes.

The pro shop at Old Orchard is a tad on the cramped side, but I prefer that to an empty shop. The driving range here has grass tees to hit from. There is also one very large practice green on your way to the first tee. While on your way to the tee, pick up a dog or a burger from the halfway house grill shed. The guys working it always take good care of you.

Finally, there’s a cluster of homes and apartments tucked into the very heart of the golf course. These houses and cars must get bombarded by golf balls constantly. I hope they have good insurance.
