Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club Overview
There's truth in advertising at the Bridges of Poplar Creek. I can confirm there are many bridges here, and they're pretty impressive too. For example, the bridge that connects the 2nd and 3rd hole is a long, winding, wooden affair with a plaque dedicated to the legendary golfer Bobby Jones. And of course, with all these bridges comes the water hazards. They're all over this course and seemingly have ball magnets pulling your shots towards them.

Poplar Creek is a great value for the price. The course is kept in really good shape and has a ton of character, with shot selection and strategy more important than your typical muni. The golf carts have EZ-GO's Pace GPS system. The terrain here has moderate elevation changes, but nothing too severe.

Poplar has invested a lot in its practice facilities in recent years, most notably with the TopTracer range building. Heated range bays have launch monitors embedded to give you specific details about every shot you hit. TVs at each bay let you watch a game while hitting balls. There's also the traditional driving range with normal mats next to the TopTracer range, along with a green to practice short game shots. Not to mention the enormous putting green near the first tee box.

The pro shop here is large, but feels sort of empty. It would be nice to see a larger selection of stuff in there. The restaurant has all the bar food classics you'd expect. I can't wait to get back here.
